Because Vivian is pretty well-adjusted even if her infatuation is sometime used for comedic effect. She’s a good girl that wants to believe she can save people, deeply grateful to her savior, and has experienced a bunch of suffering herself so she’s familiar with the way the world works, and doesn’t want others to feel that way too. Leaning into one trope because it’s a funny part of her character arc doesn’t mean she has to have all the rest like it’s a clichés bingo card or something.
Vivian can be a little silly, but she’s earnest about living her life out and loving others regardless of reciprocation.
