I can't stop thinking about it.
Why would they even include the line about danchou? There wasn't any need for it.
They could have just had Fraux say it was Rios that made her smile that way from the start. And it would not have affected the narrative of the scene at all.
But instead they brought danchou up when there was absolutely no reason to. Even worse, danchou was otherwise irrelevant throughout the whole fate episode and is just catching strays.
The sole purpose that line served was to diminish and belittle the MC's achievements and relationship with Fraux that was built up over the last six years.
Six years of not just the fate episodes, but hours upon hours of grinding and farming in arcarum and sandbox. A process that people chose to dedicate themselves to for Fraux. And in the end this is their reward.
It's baffling to me.
Someone legitimately thought up the idea in their own head to have Rios suggest danchou truly makes Fraux happy. To give people that brief tiny little bit of satisfaction that even Fraux's best friend can see the positive effect danchou had on her life.
Just to have Fraux herself IMMEDIATELY shoot down the idea. As if it was never even a remote possibility. Like twisting a knife you didn't even know was there.
I don't understand. I can't get it out of my head. It's making me mad. It's making me sad. Angry. Depressed.
I have never felt this betrayed and upset over a video game in my entire life. Even Aerith dying in the original FFVII did not effect me this much. I am starting to wonder if I'm okay.
