“How about learning about our previous rulers?” Cassius asks. “You’re going to be king after all. Perhaps it would help to learn of your predecessors, taking note of both their successes and failures? I imagine something like that might be useful to one who will soon wield the same power as they.”

>“Hmm, that could be interesting, I suppose.” You admit, taking a seat across from Cassius in the sand. “What’s their deal? Has Morfis ever had any really shitty kings? Anyone I should know about to avoid making the same mistakes they did?”

“In the many years following Xenophanes’ passing, Morfis has had no shortage of kings and queens.” Cassius says. “Some were good, such as King Theseus. He was a renowned sorcerer for his time, and under his reign, he made numerous reforms that ensured that those unable to use magic would still enjoy equal protection under Morfisian law. Others were terrible, such as Queen Basilea, whose chief interest was expanding her harem of men to number over 400.”

>“A harem, you say?” You rub your chin.

“They all had one thing in common though.” Cassius continues. “They were all direct descendants of Sorcerer King Xenophanes, revered for having his blood flowing through them. And their spouses were all typically of similar stock, often being descended from his Four Apostles, or other sorcerous families of considerable renown. Always a Morfisian, never a foreigner.”

>“Until now, that is.”

“So it seems.” Cassius nods. “Princess Yulia is still young. She has yet to claim the title of Queen, though that is expected to change following the Competition’s conclusion. She has yet to even make an appearance in the public eye. Her husband will undoubtedly wield extensive power following their marriage. I would not be surprised if everyone in Morfis is on pins and needles as they await their mystery monarch. Will they receive a good king, and be allowed to live out their lives as they normally do? Or will they receive a bad king, capable of throwing the country into disarray?”

>A): What do you believe would make a good King?
>B): What sort of power could I expect to wield as King?
>C): Tell me about the general mood in Morfis towards Yulia?
>D): I changed my mind. Go back to talking about tidbits.
