No that's the wrong way of approaching it. The correct way is to point out that there was a guy who specifically pointed this out, and how it is impossible for the god of the NT to be the same cartoonishly-evil genocidal god of the OT, how the OT god (the god of Israel) is actually the devil tricking people into believing that he is the real god and how the real god doesn't preach genocide but kindness and forgiveness, and how all of that was denounced as heresy by the church and how the trinity was installed in its place to prevent any further arguments in this direction.
Or that is to say, the church specifically went out of its way to save the contradicting OT that is supposed to be discarded and invalid due to the new covenant as if acting as its secret golem agent and as if the installment of the OT into European society was actually the goal here. This is the first open challenge to the contradicting jewishness of Christianity and the church banned it as badspeak and saved the core jewishness of the religion.
