Because PC gaming has been in a zombie state for a very long time with modern slop getting increasingly worse causing increasing number of people to stick to old games. Industry at large stopped innovating and focus on remakes, microtransactions, live service and other scam, often cannibalizing itself just to keep shareholders happy for a little longer. Hence the PC goddess stuck sleeping and getting sucked out of her life force, it is technically not dead but how long will this sustain the industry?
