As I'm imagining it, the situation is that a boy with a rare mutation is separated from his parents. The first person to offer to shelter him is, of course, a pedophile. After some amount of implied abuse, the boy develops an imaginary friend / surrogate father figure that instructs him to kill his abuser. I'm thinking it will be a flashback to explain his attitude and behavior five years later.
