im guess they're just drawing from similar wells
learning from similar sources, they're of a similar generation so they grew up with the same stuff
the coloring styles mostly similar because they are just simple 2 tone stuff
can't imagine these guys learned art very formally, ever learned to paint, and either were self taught or went to a school that didn't really emphasis fundamentals.
probably the types who draw when they have an idea, rather than "grinding" everyday

i'm reminded of the "cartoonists" from that buzzfeed series, they always tend to be worse artists than the "animators"
