I have no idea where this cover story is even going. I'll be shocked if Oda uses it to even get back to whoever moved Onigashima to Wano's ocean. I'm more interested in when/if we'll get another One Piece film any time soon? The manga, coverstory and anime have been great. I'm going to assume not, since the WIT anime still is a thing and the Live Action took up plenty of Oda's time already.
