It's like how all the remaining Espada were functionally irrelevant once Ulquiorra revealed his secret second form. And to be fair, the top tiers were soundly defeated by even the jobbers of the Gotei 13.
Bleach really was a massive bait and switch in power scaling just cuz the MC's power got reset after the 1st arc, giving new forms that weren't even as strong as himself in the 1st arc.
But hey, it means the males can be shat out as 4-stars!
