I’ve been to both Portuguese shitholes (haven’t gone to Angola yet to get the trifecta) and Portugal was obviously the nicer country to backpack across. The people were surprisingly kind and friendly (I’m used to going to Spain where they’re legitimately fucking assholes, beautiful country tho) and despite the poor economic situation, people really seemed to put effort in decorating their houses with nice little gardens and the most annoying “guard” dogs that incessantly bark at you from behind the garden fence. Brazilians are friendly and easy going but the country is obviously third world outside of the “nice” areas. “Nice” areas remind me of home (Miami) which I didn’t really rate much, same shit different (worse) language. Really, the best and worst things about Brazil are its people. Geography isn’t that special, I think Argentina/Chile or even Venezuela are more beautiful.
