Desu if we increase it to $20K or $30K with the inflation since 2017, we'll probably see a pretty modest effect. $40K is just inflation-proofing it for a couple years. I think that by the time 2030 rolls around, I'll be paying $30K or more in state taxes even here in Dixie. I'm counting sales, property, income, etc.
