To be perfectly frank, Chronicles -could- have been canon if it siegued into Unleashed. Just excuse the unseen adventure at the beginning of Unleashed as the one suggested at the end of Chronicles.
Of course, the problem is that Shade didn't stay behind in the Twilight Cage. If they knew in advance that they weren't doing a sequel, they should've just cut her from the ending.
