I actually think a lot of that is also due to the fact that many people don’t see a fat fetish and a stuffing fetish as two distinct things. There’s a lot of overlap for sure, but I guarantee you that most truly dedicated stuffingfags are more likely to prefer women somewhere in the slim to chubby range rather than blobs. It’s why places like r/stuffers are shitholes: because they let the blobfags in, and it eventually stopped being about stuffing. And that’s to say nothing about the amount of creeps who go unpoliced.
