The BEST and I mean the BEST method for catching mice in my experience is to take one of these traps (it doesn't have to be the exact brand just the same style with the plastic trigger) then take some dog kibble or something similar to it and hot glue individual pieces (dont use too much glue just a dab) to the the trigger, this makes sure that itll trigger even for a careful mouse, its kinda overkill but its what works for me
