You've moved away from moving your goalposts and now you're trying to change the definitions.
In the example that you used to say that the Gargoyles fight with their wings in, they all have the wings folded, so you can see the backside on the front. They're all "cupped" and the ribs are close together. The wings are also only spaced about one arm-width away from their arms too.
Every single GIF i posted has them flexing, with the ribs spread apart. Hence "stretching". The wings also stretched out 2-5x body widths on either side (aka, the wings stick out at least another torso width away from their arms).
