Yeah. I think it might be because Serena's Braixen never evolved during the XY/XYZ anime so fans of Braixen never got used to Delphox, as Delphoxes didn't get nearly as much screentime as her Braixen. The entire Fennekin line are my favorite Pokemon though so it's cool.

Sounds like you might also have felt the disappointment I have at the fact that Greninja got all the cool merch and shit while your favorite Kalos starter(s) were mostly unseen and forgotten by the Pokemon Company. At least Braixen was in Pokken Tournament and got a Tag Team card with Charizard in the TCG.
