All the constant jockeying for dominance is honestly tiring. There's no getting away from it either. Your options as a man are to either opt out entirely and occupy the lowest rung on the totem pole as a low status man OR throw your hat in the ring, entering a world where you are constantly competing with literally every man in every room and everywhere on planet earth at all times in the domains of fitness, wealth, personality, intelligence, power and personal achievements.
Now every interaction involving you, another man and a woman is a pissing contest. You live to mog other men and you live in fear of being mogged. You can never relax or be yourself, never let your guard down, never let anything get to you. Your reward for all this is getting to have sex and ultimately to pass your genes on. It's no accident that nature rewards this behaviour, it makes sense. It's just... tiring.
It's directly related to testosterone as well. If you've got a meek man who is currently opting out and you give him weekly 500mg test injections he'll turn into the competitive, ambitious, dominance-seeking man. Even knowing this though, I can't bring myself to do it. I'm not cut out for a life of competition. I'm willing to settle for my quiet life alone, not passing on my genes and not having sex. To which the men in the arena say "good, one less man for me to compete with", such is their way of life. In the end they are the winners and I am the loser, the fox who decides he didn't want those grapes anyway.
