I had a toy battle axe in the 90s that had mirror-chrome surface with high-reflection.
The nosy neighbors ran out and thought I had I real one I was chasing my friends with.
As realizing it was a toy, they left me with a "keep that in the house or else..."

Gods knows they would've called the cops if I had a Nerf gun, etc
