>Hey look at this interesting game thats coming out soon
>See all the posts are about pedophilia, and other stuff they deem gross
>Then they shun Steam for daring to allow such a gross thing to be allowed on the platform
>even if the game has none of that content all due to its horrible rep they're seeing firsthand
Do you remember the adpocalypse as well on YouTube? Ever consider why brands no longer advertise on X anymore either? Why credit companies are killing websites like Fanbox? Reputation matters for the overall website.
Innocent things will get caught in the crossfire because too many bad actors get too fucking loud and obnoxious, not realizing they are the biggest roadblock to its success.
That one rape incest game caused a lot of problems for Steam as well. People were starting to melty over Steam for allowing that shit to appear on the store even if briefly. Saying that Steam should be shut down for allowing it, which is funny it was allowed but not Nekopara. Which is reinforcing my point of reputation matters. No one cared about it, and the devs took it off Steam themselves because they FELT BAD Steam was catching so much flack for their game. They let it pass because if it wasn't for it's actual content being "shocking" no one would care and it'd be just another WEG on steam.
While Nekopara has been known as a pedo game for YEARS because all normalfags care about is age, so Coconut is basically the same as toddlercon to them.
With how many WEGs get released daily they most likely assumed this was just like any other and didn't need to be checked. but something like NP which could look bad now after all this drama has happened...is really not that much of a suprise they're holding back on the release. Confused on what to do with it.
Even the official steam chat got just flooded with porn by subhumans, so obviously steam would take a notice to that, and now they're probably manually reviewing everything.
