With Jesus's death, the title of Chosen people (and also "Israel", "Jews", etc.) was taken from Jews (by birth) and given to Christians (Jews by faith). This is called supersessionism, and it's a doctrine of most major denominations that American protestants did away with, causing all this confusion. This is why we use the term "Judaism" for the modern Jewish religion instead of just calling everything Jewish and causing dumb arguments over semantics. Tldr; Jesus was Jewish (ethnically and Biblically) but not in the modern sense (Judaist).
