Darkstalkers is Capcom at their most unashamedly sexy. Forget the outright sexiest girls in any fighter for a moment. Name another Capcom game (or any game really) where you have a character who changes his opponents into a sexy woman, or where someone pumps up someone's boobs until they pop. Darkstalkers is an arcade game I'll never forget seeing in the wild thanks to this extreme personality.
If they can't go wild with this kind of thing, be inappropriate as shit, then I just plain don't want it. We're getting back to developers giving gamers what they want and not what the virtue signal mob wants. So maybe it's good it stayed in hibernation. But we'll see if Capcom is ever able to return to that. God I hope so.
