>Naturally come into contact with
No it's not that easy, it's semi-delusional whatever you're talking about.
You basically need to anki-goon for the first 1,000 or 2,000 words, not naturally come into contact with them.

After that SOMEWHAT, but you're delusional on how easy it is and how much you know. You aren't mathematically at B1 / B2 at 1,000 words because that would just mean you could use anki for a week intensively to learn a language, completely delusional. - but you can actually naturally extend your understanding of the language by just reading.

There are studies on this. The zipf law applies to how common words are, and they know the rough number of words you must encounter - each level is additive, each "token" is just a word. To get to 9,000 words known, therefore, it would take 11 million tokens, or 92 books.

And for those "first 1,000", or even the first few hundred, they're basic syntax words like "I", "go", "the", ect. and they won't let you read or have a conversation or anything, they are requirements but not any of the actual substance and you'll spend the journey all the way to 9,000 understanding their specific contexts.
