Its really just preference. I am sure there are dozens of individual ways to make them to taste, but I am notoriously basic. You could probably add lots of the stuff one might use for a sundae.

Finding cola made from actual kola nut is a bit of a hunt. I know one mini place online that sells it but the idiots use fake sugar.
RC Cola is really under rated; its a straight (pseudo) cola, whereas Coke is just a bit of vanilla added and Pepsi is a bit of lime.
You can also get "Mexican" Coke in the traditional capped bottles, which is just the old Coke with real sugar instead of HFCS, but it still doesnt use real kola.
