>“Of course! As a Champion of Fodlan, it is only a given that I show these Morfisians the best of what our people can do.” You tell Cyril, whose facial expression gives nothing away on whether he believes you or not. “I am here not just as a representative of Fodlan, but of the Goddess as well. And given that you are one of her sworn warriors, there’s something you ought to know. Something I’ve uncovered during my time in these strange, foreign lands.”

“Go on.” Cyril says.

“There is a secretive group of native Morfisians that have been worshiping the Goddess for hundreds of years. They live out in the desert, away from their kin, and show reverence to her rather than the Sorcerer King. Some of them even possess Crests! I made contact with them not too long ago, and they now look to me as their leader. The Church of Seiros would undoubtedly stand to learn much from this group and its origins. As the Archbishop’s representative, I’d be happy to put a good word in for you.” You give Cyril the most genuine smile you can muster.

“That’s…quite a revelation.” Cyril blinks, taken aback by your words. “Do you have any proof?”

>“I can take you to them. I know where they live. All I ask is that you give me The Inexhaustible. The Sacred Weapon of the Crest of Indech. Once I win the competition, I will introduce you immediately.”

“Right.” Cyril says, unconvinced. “You wish for me to give you the Sacred Weapon. And then you will take me to this secret group. That only you know of. That coincidentally also follows your every word.”

>“Look, I know how it sounds, and if there was time to take you now I would, but we wouldn’t make it back in time for the start of the Competition. My allies met them, and are here with me right now. They can back up that what I’m saying is true.”

“You’re saying that your vassals are willing to back up your claim?” Cyril raises an eyebrow. “Is that supposed to convince me? They follow your every word, do they not?” The commander shakes his head. “I appreciate what you did in Shangri-La, but I’m afraid we do not have a deal. You would not be the first contender here who has thought that they could strike some sort of bargain with me for my assistance. If this group you claim does exist, then you can show me after the Competition is over.”

Shit, how annoying. Cyril was unwilling to believe your claims about Eman and his sect of the Cult that now followed you. Sure, it was a ridiculous notion, but it was also true! In any event, you did not plan on giving up just yet in your pursuit for the bow.

>“Well then, how about I prove myself to you some other way. I understand you have your work cut out for you here with all these hotheads. I’d be happy to lend a hand. You’ve already seen how resourceful I can be with Klement.”
