Fucking this. The worst is that the devs really want you to know its simon-says and throw any discretion out the window.
Part of Fromsoft's appeal is that they aren't heavy-handed with developer intent compared to the average AAA game.
Any use of spacing or knowing your moveset mean jack when the optimal strat is to always play their heavy-handed version of simon-says defensive combat.
Your options are purely an aesthetic choice, not a meaningful gameplay choice.
Eve looking hot is a gooner's hollow-victory when there's no depth in the gameplay that supports her looks.
Its a tease where they can get the blood flowing, but leave the problem-solving part of the brain disappointed.
