I hate trans headcanons, and i'm not saying sakaki is trans, but I think theres a number of ways you can interpret her character through a trans lens. Mostly due to her discomfort with her height and many of her other physical characteristics and how she is perceived by others for many things that are out of her control, and her envy of chiyo for being so small and cute. She even tries to convince chiyo that being short is better because she looks cuter that way, something she whole heartedly disagrees with and is taken aback by. She's extremely reserved and spends a lot of time daydreaming about how much she wishes she could be cuter. I find many of Sakaki's interactions with other characters in the show pretty relatable to my trans experience at least, and I always enjoy reading about/watching characters that I can relate with in a different way that the creator intended because I have such a uniue lived experience.
