I never understood this. He's clearly about to try to kill all of them, so why would he wish them good fortune? Either they won't be around to have good fortune or he's going to be dead, in which case he'd probably hope they have bad fortune and die. And what wars did he think were to come anyway? As far as he knows, the war just eneded and everyone's going to chill.
