claiming "chinese develipers pushed western game devs to self-censor so they'd have a business advantage" makes as much sense as claiming "water bottle companies pushed soda companies to adopt low-calorie diet sodas so they'd have a business advantage".

in both cases, you offer no proof, and the reasoning doesn't even make much sense in the first place.
