Nvidea was kinda right on VRAM, you don't really need over 10 gigs... but only because every body buys Nvidea and all of their affordable cards are sub 10GB VRAM so all devs are aiming to keep Vram usage below 8GB by aggressively swapping data back and forward from the Vram and SSD
The few games that don't do this are the ones where pic related happens
