It's funny because the CHIPS act was exactly that, a tax on everybody for goods not purchased by everyone. Prices rise for manufacturing outside the US, that's the whole point of the tariffs that the foreign company eats some of the costs to continue to sell in the largest markets. We've already seen enormous companies move here rather than manufacture in China to save paying import fees.
