>SELECTED: “Ghosthelms are in a bad way, sir. One for one the Auxiliaries could wipe the floor with the rebs and most of our guys too, no offence. Keeping these in working order is our best bet at leveling the playing field.” At least a little. There’s not a lot of high-tech spare parts to be had, you’ll need to leverage both the Company and League of Dis resources to keep your handful of Ghosthelms in reliable shape. Ammo would be great, an extra body between you and the next bullet sent your way would be even better. But if you’re going to go toe-to-toe with the Auxiliaries, and something in your gut tells you that showdown is all but inevitable, you want at least one thing in your arsenal that they are sorely lacking. And a lot of those crucial Ghosthelms have parts that are being held together with duct-tape and, last you checked Night Night’s, literal chewing gum.
The Auxiliaries may be grizzled survivors of all the tender attentions that an upbringing on Clayton’s Cradle comes with, like yourself, and likewise battle hardened from years of service on the Imperial Legion’s many fronts, but you may just have an edge on the equipment front. From what Sharky tells you the Auxiliaries are way down low on the list of Savis Command priorities, even in a theatre of war so adeptly suited to them such as this one. The Auxiliaries don’t get the nice toys, aside from maybe a Hunter Killer drone or somesuch to bolster their independent outfits, and are even low priorities for area support compared to regular Legionary patrols. The Cradler Auxiliaries almost certainly won’t be sporting top-of-the-line Ghosthelms like the ones your forked out for during your last redeployment, that’s the kind of high-tech gear that is expensive enough that a Savis officer isn’t going to go looking for in their shopping list. In the dark, in the shadows of the jungles undergrowth where the hunter becomes the hunted in the span of a breath, the last thing you want is for your tech-edge to fail at the critical moment.

You don’t even get halfway through the pitch that you and Crane practiced before Lieutenant ‘Boy’ Blue nods at his colleague and the requisition request is highlighted in green. After a few more words and a nod from the Sub-Liuetenant Kaiser of the 63rd, another flick of the hand sees Trooper Goldie reassigned back to the 77th’s own Vinehound Squad.
“It’s a fairly specific item. What we don’t have won’t be hard to source from the League in exchange for more basic supplies.” The LT’s glance at the spreadsheet shows a lot of red, almost all of it relating to basic provisions and ammunition. He doesn’t even remark on Goldie’s transfer, he’s got bigger issues at hand than standard squad size according to Company regs.
