I have encountered these types of posters in Final Fantasy threads before. Personally I think the psychological pathology is something like the converse of a tulpa. Rather than creating a fictionalized, idealized companion in their minds that they extrapolate into their reality, instead they have created a fictional nemesis shitposter who then becomes compartmentalized and permanently existent as a portion of their psyche. Think of it as like a subprocess in a computer that is constantly running at all times: there is not a waking moment of their lives in which they are not thinking of this supposed nemesis shitposter, and at nights they will often dream of them. They cannot think clearly because eventually the fictional nemesis becomes a part of them, think dissociative identity except they are more consciously aware of what they are doing, even if they deny it. Eventually they are blacking out, posting as the very person they accuse of being in every thread, then flashing back into their own persona and spazzing over the "presence" of their anti-tulpa. A very pervasive feedback loop that only grows worse with time, this is how "people" like "Barry" and "Eric" have become permanent fixtures of /v/ culture.
I would even go so far as to extrapolate that in fact, this becomes something like shared psychosis. Rather than a folie a deux, this is a folie a plenty. Several shitposters all become convinced of the existence of this one pervasive imaginary anti-tulpa that perpetually exists in their minds, and eventually they all begin accusing the anti-tulpa of being there, all at the same time.
Perhaps the personality basis of the anti-tulpa was in fact a real person, much like how split personalities can sometimes be based on a separate person who really did exist, but becomes internalized as a projection in the deluded mind. The original person does not eventually matter at all, and probably doesn't even browse /v/ at all anymore, if they ever did.
