Incorrect. Right now metal is a forgettable subgenre of rock, just another pop genre gimmick that will be forgotten just as all pop genres are left behind for new novelties. No one even bothers to interpret compositions, no one writes down their music, its all in-and-out one day and the next - irrelevant tunes that come and go as any other pop tune. It takes a lot more than that to be remembered.
