Gold gear is a noob trap anon. Instead of buying that you should get your next gear in the rapetown (a ruined village next to the demon lord's castle). All items from there are very strong but come with equally big drawbacks. My strat has always been to stack as much attack as possible (watch out for cursed heavy armor that gives +25 crit). This leaves you with something like 4k hp total but enough damage to clear out the entire darklight+mansion area.
