They will probably stick with Koya Katsuyoshi based designs like Heroes (and even Awakening's in-game art for the FE4 characters), just making them more detailed, rather than the Mayumi Hirota redesigns, so they should be cute. And there are many female characters compared to older FE games due to the pairing/generation system forcing a roughly equal number of male and female characters.
