Watching this made me realize how truly nontent this season has been. it seems like a lot has been happening if you think LOUD NOISE and manufactured drama (literally beef) or fish trying to be hassle-lite is content but it's very hard to pin down iconic moments from the first week. Do these fish really hold a candle to previous contestants? It's soulless, and for a first week to be this divisive is a massive problem because the first week is always considered the most nostalgic period of the show. It's humorous, I think it's mildly entertaining to see things happen but it's like they've condensed any "neptunian" energy into a goop that keeps you happy and they even SET OUT to do that. In the investor stream they said "this is a good product, it's a really solid season" the cast was picked out for being able to sustain 6 weeks of "I guess this is funny" with personalities suited for that rather than truly interesting people.
I want you to think back to seasons 2 and 3, even look back at the threads if you have to. There were MOMENTS, fishtank-defining moments. When Summer was freaking out, does that hold a caliber to... anything Rachel did? When Alex B. had confessionals with Sam that literally had me staring at the screen in shock by how fucking wild he was I couldn't believe he was real. Freddy getting drunk isn't a moment, it's just pretty entertaining. It's a 6/10 consistent season with no heights. Jet even knows this when he made fun of Jin or Daniel being THE NEW COAL! HE'S COLE! OMG HE'S GOING COLE! because they fucking weren't, they didn't have that stage presence, they're whatever.
