I'd still like to see a mod or a fanfic that subverts this. May comes into the champion room after Brendan wins, and Brendan is expecting her to be silly and give belated advice, but when he tries to wave her off, she reveals that actually she's acquired the 8 badges and defeated the E4 just behind him, and is now challenging him for the title he just won; and she has a beefed up 6-mon fully evolved team. Basically, an inverse of RBY, where Red barged in on Blue/Green's recent victory and cut his reign short.
