Funny Soviet moment. In the 1980s there was a series of U.S.-Soviet telecasts set up (hosted by Phil Donahue on the American side and Vladimir Pozner on the Soviet side) where the audiences could ask each other questions. An American woman asked if there was homosexuality in the USSR, and the Soviet audience awkwardly tried to answer it, by saying "that issue is unacceptable and we don't talk about ... it's a criminal offense ... nobody here has ever heard of that ... believe me it's not an issue in the theatre ... I know such people do exist but it's not a problem it simply DOES NOT EXIST."
And then another American woman asked if there is sex on television, and a Soviet woman replied "we have no sex, and we are strictly opposed to it!" Which caused the Soviet audience to burst out laughing.
