Miyazaki has never given the SLIGHTEST fuck about what player expected and wanted. Consort Radahn was written long before Elden Ring even released and you can tell. They didn't change that despite the overwhelming and wrong Godwyn theories spread even by Vaatividya because you can actually see the overwhelming evidence that hints at that now and that many couldn't pick up
