Largely this discussion does not pull me into this /g/ vs /vg/ thing, it does make me think about how explosively popular this thing of ours was in 2023, and where we are now with the people who stuck around. Ever heard of the Lindy effect? The golden age of chatbotting wasn't golden long enough to convince me AI technology is intelligent or capable enough for more than a niche audience. To be clear AI overall seems to be here to stay, this branch of it is largely early adopters waiting for the next big step in capability.
