City of Heroes emulated server was about to be canned recently and be completely wiped out if it wasn't for the fact that NCSoft realized that it would hurt their reputation more fucking over thousands of people than holding on to it like a coveting jew. They forced the developers into a licensing deal, forcing to pay them portions of what they earn.

Emulated servers need FULL autonomy and decision-making outside of what some faggy corporation wants from them, so they can expand it to their own wants and need.
