this is not true, check your metadata. it used to be that with the extension infill requests would disregard the denoise slider value and always use 0.5, while img2img would actually use it. but you can infill with varying strength now (try it on the website, infilling with the strength slider at 0.5 is completely different from infilling with the slider at 1).

"NativeInfillingRequest" in metadata = you used the "Inpaint Image" menu on the website/inpainted using "Inpaint Model" with the extension
"Img2ImgRequest" in metadata = you used the pencil menu on the website/inpainted using "Img2Img" with the extension
Both can have varying strength, and that is set with the denoise slider on the webui
