Since allot of people don't really understand what is happening, i will try to be as quick as humanly possible with this.

Syria's fall was a really important happening, for multiple reasons first of.

Iran was a bad Ally to Russia, Russia want them there but they constantly undermined Russia's position in the region so when push came to shove Russia wasn't in a position to help out there. Iran was but refused.

Mt.Hermon, once Syria fell Israel moved into that particular Mountainous region, and the reasons are obvious it was really hard for Israel to figure out what Lebanon and Syria and by extension Iran where doing due to limitations in Radar. and they couldn't really figure out if Rockets came flying because of that mountain it was also a corridor that Iran used to supply their Proxies like Hezbolah in Lebanon.

Everyone most likely remembers Israel bombing Syria when it fell that was to take out AD -Air Defense- and by doing so Israel now has a 700km long corrider and extra range for it's fighter jets to fly over to Iran bomb it, and then fly back refuel midway and land.

It's why they are bombing Iran now. and it's because Iran was dumb enough to Undermine Russia's position in the Region, since now Israel can do bombing runs by themselves.
