I think +3 VIG and rally is infinitely better on John Sekiro, because in a 40 minute run, you're going to mess up a couple of deflects unless its your only run of the day.
Being able to take a hit and be a discount raider by just wailing on the boss and deflecting to build stagger, is still infinitely better than going "Why doesn't my rivers of blood work anymore!?!?"
I guess it's the price you pay for being able to solo troll castle in coop
