It's not just a personal LARP, he is propped up by the Israeli government and seemingly the UK government as well.
There have been quite a few Pro-Palestinian rallies/parades/protests in London over the last couple years and every time they happen there is an organized counter-protest where large groups of people show up flying Israeli flags alongside that flag that you see behind him in the photo. It's a total glow op.
