Both China and India are running out of water. Ground water levels keep lowering each year and most of the water sources are so polluted that it can't be used even for agriculture which takes 80% of fresh water. There's simply too many people for existing water sources and water crisis will also lead to food crisis.

Forget NATO and Russia. The next large war will start between China and India when 2,8 billion people run out of water. Mekong is drying up too and China doesn't have any friends in Asia so larger conflict is possible.

China is really a paper tiger because it's the worlds largest food/energy importer and war which would distrupt or block imports would lead to famine and energy crisis is China.
