claymore has cool monsters! (picrel) and fist of the north star is just awesome! sadly can't watch it anymore because um I watched with my gf or well ex gf and now it reminds me of her... but anyway! you should watch the anime or read the manga they are both great, the anime has a really good ost.

I would say start with the first one, I personally don't like using guides but feel free to use a guide, I can see people getting lost in that game.

my favorite monster hunter is 3U I personally do like the underwater hunts, yes they could be better but hey at least there's only like 9 of them, in case you don't like them.
