The latino identity was invented in the 20's during the modernist movement by artists from various spanish-speaking countries in the Americas, it by design excluded Brazil, Haiti, Jamaica and some other countries. The idea that brazillians are latino is fairly recent, introduced partially by immigration of brazillians into the US (where the mexicans and other beaners saw the similarities) and also by the spread of northern brazillian culture which is a lot more similar to that of neighbouring countries and the caribbean. This is the correct answer and anyone who says otherwise is a fag and doesn't know what they are talking about.
