Im at lostbelt 4 so far and idk why the story is trying to push this point, every single world we've been to so far has been a dystopian nightmare with 1/2 and even 4 being basically a death sentence. I'm gonna guess that there will eventually be a lostbelt that will actually be a decent place to live, at least on surface level, which put the moral dilemma to a more fair test
