Tarnished by Erica Rose Eberhart is a fairly typical hero's journey fantasy novel with a fun twist that the love interest becomes a dragon. I enjoyed reading it, though I have gripes with the prose, it might just be a me thing but it never is vivid enough for my tastes. Also there isn't a very good sense of distance in the work, everything feels way too close together. It's a multi perspective work between the mc, their love interest and the love interests sister and they are all interesting characters who feel real, like the mc can't keep eye contact with anyone it's adorable. Decent fair 6:10.

I meant I thought it would play it for a joke rather than treat the subject seriously. It does have humor and jokes, but it keeps the tone dramatic rather than silly.
